WORKSHOP DATE:
Sunday, April 26, from 1pm-5pm Eastern / 10am-2pm Pacific
SUPPLY LIST:
The Sidney Sweatshirt pattern (bust 30 3/4 - 55”) by Merchant & Mills.
Please note: the pattern is available in two size ranges. This sweatshirt is very oversized, so be sure to look at both the body & finished garment numbers before choosing a pattern to buy. Reach out to Christine if you need guidance selecting a size.
2 - 3 yards of medium weight knit fabric. Required yardage depends on the size being sewn & the width of your fabric. Ideal fabrics are French terry, sweatshirt fleece, ponte, interlock knit, double knit, & jersey knit. Avoid fabrics with lots of drape or an open structure like loosely knitted sweater knits. Please confirm the choice with Christine if you are unsure if it will work.
3/4 yards of ribbing for neckline, cuffs, & hem. If choosing to use ribbing strips instead of yardage, you will need enough length to go around your neck, wrists, and hem. There is a yardage chart on the third to last page of the pattern to help you calculate the amount needed by size. The ribbing strips will need to be 2 1/2” wide (or wider) to work for the pattern.

VIRTUAL WORKSHOP DETAILS:
Workshops are taught by me, Christine Haynes, live from my home studio
Attendance is limited to ensure personal one-on-one attention
Workshops are led virtually through Zoom, a free video conferencing software that can be downloaded here
Students will need access to a computer, smart phone, or tablet with internet access to participate in the workshop (note: the bigger your screen, the easier it is to see the action!)
I teach using two cameras, so you can always see a close up of each step being taught, as well as have face to face interaction
A Zoom link & password will be emailed a day ahead of the first class session to the email address used in checkout, so be sure to type your email correctly upon checkout
Workshop sessions will be recorded so students that get behind, or need to miss a session, can rewatch the previous lesson & catch up
The focus of my workshops is on construction & technique. Fit is discussed, but due to the nature of Zoom workshops, fitting instruction is limited
