The Sylvie Dress Pattern is Back!

The Sylvie Dress pattern has returned! Sylvie is a feminine fit & flare sundress with fun details like under the bust darts, a wide waistband and large patch pockets that can both be cut on the bias, and a dirndl skirt that can be cut on-grain or on the selvage edge of the fabric to utilize printed or decorative fabric borders!

The bodice and skirt are unlined, openings are finished with binding, and an invisible zipper up the center back gets you in and out of the dress.

Originally launched in 2015, this is a relaunch of the original Sylvie Dress pattern in sizes 0-18. Please note the fit & flare version is available, but the fitted version has been retired. This will not be printed or expanded into additional sizes.

One last note: this is a straight relaunch with no changes to the original pattern. There is a bit more ease in the bodice than I would design if I was drafting it today. So check your body measurements against the finished and size down if you’d like it more fitted.

Because the neck and armhole openings are bound using bias, it is very easy to raise or lower as desired, and the dirndl skirt can easily be lengthened as well!
