I am so happy to introduce my newest pattern: the Paquette Bag! This is my first ever bag pattern, & I’m thrilled to be sharing it with all of you.

SHOP THE PAQUETTE BAG

The Paquette Bag is a minimal modern cross body bag. The clean lines have zero bells & whistles, giving you only what you need: a perfect medium sized, fully lined bag, with one zipper closure. Everything you want & nothing you don’t.

The strap is attached with O-rings & swivel hooks, so you can make many straps & swap them out based on your outfit styling. The Paquette gets its volume from four darts on the front, & four darts on the back. Clean, minimal, & modern.

The Paquette outer can be sewn in canvas, vinyl, leather, upholstery fabric, & other medium & heavy weight choices. The lining can be sewn in any medium weight or lightweight woven fabric, like cotton lawn, quilt weight, Bemberg rayon, silk, & more.

The Paquette uses so little fabric, it’s great for scrap busting, or experimenting with something fancy with little investment. For the strap you have the choice to sew one in fabric, or you can make it with leather or webbing. So many options! Have fun with it!

Sample Materials

For the photoshoot, I made four samples, in a range of fabric types, so you could see the many directions you could go with this pattern. Here are all the details of what I used for each bag:

BROWN BAG & PINK STRAP
OUTER: Brown vinyl with backing, no interfacing. Purchased locally in San Francisco, CA.
LINING: Chore coat cotton, designed by Alexia Marcelle Abegg, interfaced with Pellon SF101.
BIAS BINDING: Quilt weight cotton, designed by Alexia Marcelle Abegg.
STRAP: 1 1/2” polyester & cotton webbing, designed by Alexia Marcelle Abegg. Purchased from Stitch Supply Co.

BLACK BAG & BLACK STRAP
OUTER: Black perforated vinyl, interfaced with Pellon SF101. Purchased locally in San Francisco, CA.
LINING: Quilt weight cotton, designed by Alexia Marcelle Abegg, interfaced with Pellon SF101.
STRAP: 1 1/2” polyester & cotton webbing. Purchased from Stitch Supply Co.

SILVER BAG & YELLOW STRAP
OUTER: Silver metallic linen, interfaced with Pellon SF101. Purchased locally in San Francisco, CA.
LINING: Quilt weight cotton, designed by Alexia Marcelle Abegg, interfaced with Pellon SF101.
STRAP & STRAP HOLDERS: 1 ” polyester & cotton webbing. Purchased from Stitch Supply Co.

PINK BAG
OUTER & STRAP: Pink chore coat cotton, interfaced with Pellon SF101. Alexia Marcelle Abegg.
LINING: Quilt weight cotton, designed by Alexia Marcelle Abegg, interfaced with Pellon SF101.

Leather zipper pulls on the bags purchased locally. All hardware & zippers were purchased at Wawak.
