Paquette Bag - Digital Sewing Pattern
The Paquette Bag is a minimal modern cross body bag. The clean lines have zero bells & whistles, giving you only what you need: a perfect medium sized, fully lined bag, with one zipper closure. Everything you want & nothing you don’t.
The strap is attached with O-rings & swivel hooks, so you can make many straps & swap them out based on your outfit styling. The Paquette gets its volume from four darts on the front, & four darts on the back. Clean, minimal, & modern.
The Paquette outer can be sewn in canvas, vinyl, leather, upholstery fabric, & other medium & heavy weight choices. The lining can be sewn in any medium weight or lightweight woven fabric, like cotton lawn, quilt weight, Bemberg rayon, silk, & more. The Paquette uses so little fabric, it’s great for scrap busting, or experimenting with something fancy with little investment. For the strap you have the choice to sew one in fabric, or you can make it with leather or webbing. So many options!

Upon purchasing this item, you will receive an email with a download link. The link will expire 24 hours after purchasing. Downloads must be made on a laptop or home computer & cannot be saved to a portable device like a phone or tablet. Your download will contain the following pieces:

DIFFICULTY: 2 of 5 spools - Advanced Beginner
NOTIONS: Polyester thread, one 11” #4.5 size zipper (should be approximately 1” wide), two 1” O-rings, two 1” swivel clasps, one 1” strap slider. Optional: leather for the zipper pull.
Note: If choosing to use webbing or leather in place of a self-made strap, you will need 52” of your chosen strap. Your webbing or leather can be 1 1/2” instead of 1”, but the corresponding hardware (swivel clasps & strap slider) will need to be 1 1/2” instead of 1”.
Note: For one of the samples the strap holder pieces were swapped for webbing. If you choose to do this for your bag, be sure to account for the extra length when purchasing webbing for your bag.
SUGGESTED FABRICS:
Outer fabric: Medium & heavy weight woven fabrics like cotton, linen, denim, wool, corduroy, canvas, upholstery fabric. Non-woven materials like leather, vinyl, or treated fabrics can also be used. When selecting fabric, keep in mind what your sewing machine is capable of sewing through, as many steps will be quite thick.
Lining fabric: Lightweight & medium weight wovens, such as linen, lawn, quilt weight, bemberg rayon, silk, & shirting.
Interfacing: For outer & lining, Pellon SF101 or similar medium weight fusible interfacing is recommended. If using a heavy weight outer fabric, or fabric with a treatment like waxing, interfacing can be omitted.
