Lottie Has Re-Launched!

I am so thrilled to say that our second most popular pattern, the Lottie Pattern, is back!!! The Lottie has gone through quite a few changes, so read below to see what’s new! In the meantime, you might want to pause and visit the shop because it’s 15% off for one week only!

The Lottie Pattern is an ideal quick sew for an experienced sewer, or a perfect project for a new sewer! I designed this pattern back in 2016 as an answer to all the shops and customers asking me for something beginner-friendly. I really wanted to create a beginner project that looked modern and wasn’t something expected like a tote or pajama pants. Even though I’m an advanced sewer, this is my most worn handmade item in my closet!

The Lottie has three lengths, three sleeve variations, and has the option of patch pockets, waist cinching belt, and side seam vents. So all those together make for a TON of variation. We opted to have three specific views, and the yardage is calculated accordingly, but you can mix and match to suit your style and tastes.

All views of the Lottie Dress, Top, & Tunic have bust darts, dolman sleeves, & feature a pull over the head neckline that is finished with a facing. Top length View A has long sleeves, side seam vents, & hits just above the hip. Tunic length View B has 3/4-length sleeves, patch pockets, & lands mid-thigh. Dress length View C has short sleeves, patch pockets, a waist-cinching belt, side seam vents, & a mid-calf length. But as previously mentioned, the sleeves, pockets, & vents can be added or subtracted to any view as desired for so many variations!

Like our Emery Dress, the Lottie Pattern is available in both digital and print formats. Each listing in the shop clearly itemizes what is include in each product, so give those a read if you are unsure as to what printed is versus digital.

The old version of the Lottie had a sleeveless version, and the removal of that option is the main difference between the old version and the new one. There is also the addition of a long sleeve, and two of the lengths changed slightly- the knee length became a tunic, and the maxi became a midi. After wearing the Lottie myself for years, these were the changes I kept making for myself, so I decided to make those changes moving forward. The other big shift was to change from a bias bound neckline to a facing. I heard from beginners that the binding was difficult, and in fabrics like rayon, it can be very fussy. So I switched it to a facing.

I hope you love all the changes! I couldn’t be happier with how the new versions turned out, and as always, major thanks to my gorgeous models Rose, Julie, and Pearl. Love you all!

Now go pick up the Lottie while it’s on sale, and make yourself one! Oh and remember to share using the #christinehaynespatterns and #christinehayneslottie hashtags, because we want to see your beautiful makes!
